Chicken bread

While visiting a bakery, I used to wonder looking at the chicken bread, that how could these braided, beautiful, shiny & fluffy chicken breads have been made. Chicken bread is a bakery item and it can be baked at home easily :) No need to run to an expensive bakery for it. Guess what even first try was PERFECT!! =) I made it with my sis in law :) Most of the baking items on my blog are my adventures which I have done with her lol :P

Baking, Chicken, chicken bread, Flour,

Chicken bread is basically a chicken braided & stuffed bread. Best to be served as a snack for evening tea. It basically has two steps. Making the dough for the bread & its filling. Best to be filled with chicken. But filling can be varied acc to ur taste. Brushing egg white on the braided chicken bread loaf gives it a shinny inviting look & can be topped with sesame seeds. (I didn't have it lol ). Recipe adapted from Nim's Kitchen.

Here is its easy recipe :)

Procedure for Dough :

Mix all the ingredients for dough in a bowl & knead it properly into a medium to soft dough. with slightly warm water. If dough is too sticky you can add the flour. Cover it and keep it for an hour or two for the dough to rise. It will almost double its original size :))

Procedure for Creamy Chicken Filling:

Heat oil/butter in a pan, and fry onion until they lose their strength and turn soft. Add flour and all the spices & milk. And cook until thick. Add green chili, coriander leaves & shredded chicken. Fry for few minutes and set aside. Let it cool.

Procedure for Chicken Bread:

Divide the dough into 2,3 parts.. size as required:)

Next roll out dough into rectangle shape, n brush some oil/butter on it.

Place the chicken filling u made on the center of the rectangle dough. And make slits with the help of knife on both of vertical (longer) sides.

Start bringing topmost ends of slits across from each other in a crisscross manner alternately. Remember: Alternate, in a crisscross manner. From right to left & left to right.

At the end u can leave a fish tail like end or u can fold it in.

Grease the tray in which u will bake the loaves. Place the bread loaves in it. Brush egg white on the bread loaves & sprinkle the sesame seeds.

Preheat the oven at 200 degrees and bake it for 25-30 minutes or until they are cooked properly!! If u have a top grill oven too, on it for last few minutes to give a color to it.

Enjoy the yummacious Chicken bread with ketchup.. yummyyy!! <3
