Classic Lasagna

Typical lavish & tempting Lasagna,  is a traditional dish, filled with minced meat, white sauce & loads of cheese, that appeals to people of every age. It is simply outstanding & marvelous.
Lasagnae are a large, flat pasta like & perhaps one of the oldest types of pasta. They originated in Italy. The word also refers to a dish prepared with numerous layers of lasagnae sheets alternated with sauces & a variety of other ingredients.

Lasagna has been my cold weather favorite recipe! Ah! Home made lasagna. Can anything else be better than this? yumm... Its scrumptious layers of cheesy goodness always warm me up in cold rainy nights!! This dish is simple enough to impress ur family and of course friends in any party. Lasagna sheets piled huge, towering & layered full cheese to go along with the perfect mingle of meaty & zesty & ketchup/tomato pasta sauce.
To dig all those cheesy layers of lasagna with ur fork as the cheese and the white sauce glides down the edges of the utensil and then it’s all lifted so longingly into ur mouth. Bite, after bite, after bite, each one is thoroughly enjoyed and loved. One word, YUM! It takes a lot of time and effort in making this lasagna but the taste and the luscious cheesy flavor is without any doubt worth it. With such a delicious aroma, it will surely not be possible for you to stop urself after just one serving of this appealing lasagna.

Procedure for minced meat:

Heat oil, and add the chopped onions. Fry until onions are soft & translucent. Then add garlic and ginger paste, green chilies and the chopped tomatoes, followed by all other spices (I also add turmeric powder & cumin powder). Cook until the oil begins to separate. Add mince (Chicken/beef) keep the lid covered for 15- 20 minutes or until it is cooked. Add lemon juice. Garnish with garam masala and chopped coriander leaves. Remember keep a little gravy/ Sauce in the end. Don't keep it dry!!
Note: You can also use the leftover minced meat for lasagna.

Now lets prepare the white sauce :)

Ingredients for White Sauce:

Butter                                                  3 tbsp.
Plain Flour                                          2 tbsp.
Salt                                                      1/4 tsp.
Black Pepper                                      1/2 -1 tsp.
Milk                                                    4 cups

Baking, Cheddar Cheese, Chicken, classic lasagna, cold weather recipe, Lasagna, Lasagnea, Meat, Minced Meat, Mozzarella cheese, Snacks, white sauce,

Procedure for White Sauce:

First of all melt butter in a pan, and then add the plain flour. Star stirring. Cook on low heat for 5 minutes, to vanish the raw smell of the flour! Slowly add milk in the pan, stirring gradually, so that lumps may not form! If u will not stir/add the milk gradually, lumps may form!! Let it stay on heat, until it boils. Lower the heat and let the sauce cook until it thickens. Add salt & pepper and adjust acc to taste. :) White sauce is ready!!

Rest Ingredients:

Some other ingredients that u will need while layering are :)

Lasagnae Sheets        10 appox. (I used of bake parlor)
Mozzarella cheese      1/2 cup
Cheddar Cheese         1/2 cup
Ketchup

Now lets prepare the lasagnae sheets :)

Lasagnae Sheets: 10 appox.

Take a pan, boil water, add little salt and oil, to prevent lasagnae sheets from sticking. And then add the sheets. See the packet instructions. It will take appox. 10 minutes to boil.

Next, FINALLY, assemble the dish!!!!!! yeaaa :P

Take a baking dish, preferably rectangular, and grease it with butter. Next add some white sauce before placing the lasagnae sheets in the dish, to prevent them sticking to the base. Don't let the sheets overlap each other, to maintain the beauty of the dish. Or the sheet can break. Now pour a layer of white sauce on the sheets like this :

Next add a layer of the minced meat followed by a layer of white sauce again! Like this:

Next add a layer of some cheddar & mozzarella cheese cubes followed by a layer of lasagnae sheets. And again white sauce, minced meat & cheese. You can add a 3rd layer too if ur dish has more space. At the end spread ketchup like this.

Spread a thick layer of cheese on top like this:

Now bake the lasagna in a preheated oven at 180 C for about 40 minutes or until ready. To avoid the browning of the top layer cover it with a foil after the top layer has been cooked n melted properly.
