A mutton/lamb leg is a substantial piece of meat taken from the leg of sheep or goat. The classic leg mutton is the most versatile cut as can be rolled and tied, boned, cubed, butterflied, or prepared whole. The leg has very minimal fat at its surroundings and little fat inside too. It can be cut according to ur specifications. It is a good source of minerals such as zinc, selenium, phosphorus, iron & vitamins.

Steaming is smart! And that says it alll!! Steaming preserves the flavor and fiber and prevents the nutrients loss. It is also a fast and easy way to cook most dishes. This wonderful technique also spread its magic across International cuisine, helping make scrumptious dishes. Who can resist freshly steamed food, full of flavor, color, tender, light on tummy and perfect in everyyy possible way!! So for steaming fanss... party is onnn :P

Spicy Lamb leg steam is a popular & traditional dish among most people at Sunday brunches or some festivals, during the cooler months of the year. Steamed mutton is very simple to make and is tender & tasty. It tastes like lamb but with a fuller flavor. This recipe is best for those who want to give their meals a Mexican twist. Its method of slow cooking makes the meat tender and juicy. Only you have to marinate the leg well with the given ingredients.

Ingredients:

Mutton leg                                                       1 1/2 kg.
Black pepper                                                   2-3 tsp

Salt                                                                 2-3 tsp
Ginger garlic paste                                           4 tbsp.
Vinegar                                                            1/2 cup

Procedure:

First of all wash & clean the mutton leg properly. Remove all the fat from it. Then make deep cuts all over the leg on both sides, so that it absorbs all the flavors well.

Next take a flat pan and mix all the above given ingredients, and marinate the leg properly. Leave it for 3-4 hrs or preferably keep it overnight.

Next place the leg in the steamer for 30 minutes, or if u don't have the steamer keep it in a deep utensil along with the marinade as shown above and keep it on low - medium heat for 2-3 hours or until properly cooked. Change sides in between. No need to add any water.

Garnish with coriander. Serve it hot with rice & roasted veggies and chips.

Believe me its soo falling-off-the-bone tender, healthy, yummaciouss steamed leg, which is ultra-tasty & super dooper easy to make!
