Mutton karahi, also known as mutton kadai, is one of the popular Pakistani and a North-Indian dish, noted cox of its spicy taste! It is best served with hot tandoori or roghni naan & salad :) I wanted to make this dish since ages, & at last succeeded :P This is a curry like dish in which mutton is cooked in tomato puree. It will give a different taste :)

This recipe is authentic. No onions in karahi.. remember :)

Ingredients:

Mutton                                             500 gm (1/2 kg)
Oil                                                    2 wooden spoon (doi)
Garlic Paste                                      1 1/2 tsp.
Ginger Paste                                     1 1/2 tsp.
Tomato puree                                   4 tomatoes peeled, blended
Green Chili                                      5 (chopped)
Red Chili flakes                               1 tbsp.
Turmeric Powder                             1/4 tsp.
Salt                                                   1/2 tsp.
Cumin Seeds (Zeera)                       1 tbsp.
Coriander seeds                               1 tbsp
Black pepper                                   1/2 tsp
Whole spices powder                       1 tsp
Yogurt                                              1/2 cup
Lemon Juice                                     1 tbsp
Coriander Leaves (dhanyia)              Few

P.S. u can use same recipe for beef karahi.

Procedure:

Heat oil in a pan, and add the ginger & garlic paste. Fry until golden brown.

Next add mutton & fry until it changes color. Now add 2-3 cups of water and salt and cover it with a lid. Cook until the meat has become tender & all the water has dried :)

Then add blended tomatoes, and fry almost for 10 minutes, until all the water has dried up. Next add all the spices, green chili & yogurt. Fry for few more minutes. Cover the lid for 10-15 minutes until the oil separates. Keep gravy of ur choice.

Turn off heat, add lemon juice & mix. In the end garnish with coriander leaves.

Delicious & spicy mutton karahi is ready!! Enjoyyy with naan or chapati or boil rice! :)
