As everyone is trying yummy dishes of meat now a days due to Eid, I thought of sharing Tawa naans, to serve with yummy dishes. Lets move onto the recipe:

Ingredients for Dough:

All purpose Flour  (Maida)                            2 cups
Sugar                                                              1 tsp
Oil                                                                  2 tbsp.
Salt                                                                 1 tsp.
Egg                                                                 Half
Instant Yeast                                                  1 tsp.
Baking Powder                                              1/4 tsp
Yogurt                                                           2 1/2 tbsp
Warm milk                                                    1/2 cup

Procedure:

First of all bring all ur ingredients to room temperature. Cold things makes ur naans hard.

Next, combine all the dry ingredients - flour, salt, sugar, instant yeast and baking powder in a clean dry bowl. Next add yogurt, half of the egg & oil. Mix well. Then start kneading the dough with the help of warm water & milk. Don't add all at once, cox it may be more than required. Knead into a medium to soft dough.

Cover it & keep it in a warm place for an hour or two to rise. It will double its original size as shown below: = ) wooo!!

P.S. Give dough time to rise, otherwise naans won't turn out perfect.
Curd/yogurt will ensure a soft naan.

Now, knock down the dough & knead a bit once again. Form balls out of the dough with the help of round hand movements. Adjust the size of ball acc. to the size of naan u wish to make :)

Start forming the naans by pressing the dough between your hands & converting the balls into a circle. Use the flour if the dough stick ur hands.

Then roll out the dough with the help of roll pin & make the naans about less than half inch thickness. Naan should be of equal thickness from all sides. Turn sides & roll it again. Once rolled, u can brush the naan with little egg, spread sesame seeds (til) & garnish with coriander leaves if u want.

Heat a pan/tawa & then place the rolled out naan over the pan, and cover it with the lid. Let it cook for 2-3 minutes on medium to low heat. You will see bubbles will start forming over the naan. Check the bottom of the naan, it would have started turning color into golden brown. Flip over the naan, & cover it again :) Let it cook for few more minutes :)

Once browned to ur satisfaction, remove the naan from the tawa/pan & brush the naan with melted butter :) ufff yumm!! Serve with any dish u want like Nihari, Meat balls/Kofta curry etc.

P.S. Cover it in a hot pot if u won't serve it immediately to keep it soft :)

Thanku for stopping by! Hope u enjoy this recipe :)
