Kebabs are of many types. I have told u the recipes of Chapli kebabs, Potato Kebabs & Beef Kebabs. Now I will introduce u to simple shami kebabs or mince patties. They are mostly popular in Asian & subcontinent countries. They are made of cooked minced meat mixed with spices. Different spices in it gives it an awesome taste. These delicious kebabs serve perfect as a snack, appetizers or starters. It can be served with mint chutney, raita or ketchup. They can also be used to make sandwiches & burgers. Procedure:
Put all the above mentioned ingredients in a pan on medium-low flame and let it cook for 3-4 hrs until all water is dried and the minced meat and lentils are properly cooked. The mixture should be dry enuf that it sticks the bottom of the pan. Be careful at end, u will have to stand on the spot & stir n stir until all mixture is dried. Let it cool down. Grind it in a chopper or it will be better to grind it in a hand grinder (kootni). Mix some chopped coriander leaves too while grinding.
Take mixture on the palm and make 20-25 small circle shaped kababs and freeze.
Shallow fry them later by dipping in beaten egg and bread crumbs and serve hot :) Enjoyy!

DeleteThe kebabs are nice, do i deep fry or shallow fry?
ReplyDeleteShallow fry dear. Let me edit! Thanx for query!
DeleteI have a few questions:
DeleteDo I need to cook onions and brown beef first?
Should I be stirring it regularly?
Can I use lamb?
Can this be done in a slow cooker?
Thank you
No dear u don't have to cook onions and beef first. U just have to pour all things in a pot.. add water and cook on low to medium flame until everything is cooked properly.
DeleteU don't have to stir regularly.. might be a little at end when all the water has dried up and very little water drops are left.. then stir at end so that the mixture is dried properly.
Yes u can use lamb.
Can u explain what exactly slow cooker is? I make it in normal pan/pot that have enough space for the ingredients to cook.
Thanku so much for queries :)
