Who said kebabs are difficult to make?? I have a veryyyy
simple recipe, yet so satisfying and delicious recipe to make kebabs. What you
have to do is to only gather things in a cooking, put some water in it, and put
on medium heat and forget. :P
Kebabs is a traditional dish of sliced meat in Middle East & later adopted by other countries. And the traditional meat for kebab is lamb. Kebabs are of many types. I have told u the recipes of Chapli kebabs, Potato Kebabs & Mince/ Shami Kebabs. Now I will introduce u to simple shami kebabs or Beef patties. They are mostly popular in South Asian countries e.g Pakistan, India & Bangladesh. They are made of cooked meat mixed with spices. Different spices in it gives it an delicious taste. These wonderful kebabs serve awesome as a snack/starters or appetizers. It can be served with mint chutney/raita/ketchup. They can also be used to make sandwiches & mini burgers. It is one of the famous dishes made at festivals esp. Eid ul azha / Meaty Eid :) It is one of the most comforting meals & it is one of my favorite recipes :) Here goes its recipe! Enjoy :)
Ingredients:
Beef (Boneless) 1 kg
Chanay ki daal (yellow lentils) 1 kg (soaked in water for 2-3 hrs and washed)
Onions 6 big (sliced)
Green Chilli 6 (chopped)
Red Chili powder 4 tsp.
Garlic Paste 4 tsp.
Ginger Paste 4 tsp.
Salt 4 tsp.
Cumin seeds (Zeera) 2 tbsp.
Black Pepper whole 6
Cinnamon sticks (daar cheeni) 6
Cardamom Pods (Black) 2
Cloves (Long) 8
Water 2-3 cups
Oil For frying
Egg For frying
Bread crumbs For frying
Cinnamon sticks (daar cheeni) 6
Cardamom Pods (Black) 2
Cloves (Long) 8
Water 2-3 cups
Oil For frying
Egg For frying
Bread crumbs For frying
Procedure:
Put all the ingredients in a pan on medium flame and let it cook for 3-4 hrs until all water is dried and the meat and lentils are properly cooked. The mixture should be dry enuf that it sticks the bottom of the pan. Let it cool down.
Grind it in a chopper or it will be better too grind it in a hand grinder (kootni). Mix some chopped coriander leaves too.
Take mixture on the palm and make 20-25 small circle shaped kebabs and freeze.
Fry them later by dipping in beaten egg and bread crumbs and serve hot :) Enjoyy!
