Today I am going to discuss with u Yellow lentils.. (masoor ki daal) - Here goes its recipe :)
Ingredients:
Masoor ki daal (Yellow Lentils) 1 cup (washed)
Onion 1 medium

Ginger garlic paste 1 tsp

Green Chili 2 - 3
Red Chili powder 1 tsp.
Red chili flakes 1 tsp
Red chili flakes 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp.
Salt 3/4 tsp.
Black Pepper 1/2 tsp
Fenugreek leaves 1 tsp
Lemon 1 tbsp
Water 1-2 cups
For Tempering/Seasoning (Tarka):

Cumin Seeds (Zeera) 1/2 - 1 tsp.
Dried Red Chili Peppers 3-4
Garlic cloves 4 chopped
Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
Butter/ Oil 5 tbsp.
Ginger paste 1/2 tsp
Butter/ Oil 5 tbsp.
For Garnishing -
Coriander Leaves (dhanyia) Few chopped
Procedure:
Take a pot and add 2-3 cups of water. Let it boil. Next add the washed lentils into the boiling water plus all the ingredients mentioned in the ingredients list except fenugreek leaves n lemon. Let it cook until the lentils are tender and about half of the water has dried up. You can keep as little gravy as u want as shown in pic. Add fenugreek leaves & lemon at the end.
Next, heat oil & add garlic cloves, cumin seeds & dried chilies & fry for few minutes. Now, add this bhigaar or tempering upon the cooked yellow lentils & mix gently. Keep lid covered for 5-10 min. Garnish with garam masala and chopped coriander leaves and serve with hot rotis or boiled rice.
Next, heat oil & add garlic cloves, cumin seeds & dried chilies & fry for few minutes. Now, add this bhigaar or tempering upon the cooked yellow lentils & mix gently. Keep lid covered for 5-10 min. Garnish with garam masala and chopped coriander leaves and serve with hot rotis or boiled rice.
