As Eid is just near in 3,4 days and its as Islamic tradition to serve something sweet before Eid prayers so I thought of serving this traditional dish of Pakistan - made of custard and fruits - Lab e shireen :)
Ingredients:
Pink custard powder 2 tbsp. heaped
Sugar 8-10 tbsp.
Milk 2 and 1/2 cups
Cardamom 2
Crushed nuts Handful of nuts
Milk cream pack 1 cup
Rose syrup/Rohafzaa 4 tbsp.
Fruit Cocktail 1 cup, drained
Colored Vermicelli 1/2 cup, boiled
Jelly 1 pack (preferable red)
Procedure:
First of all, prepare the jelly according to the instructions given on the packet & set aside to set.
Next add 2 tbsp of pink custard powder in half cup milk and make a paste. Then add cardamom & sugar in 2 cups of milk and bring to boil. Add custard paste to boiling milk and cook for 2-3 minutes while stirring until texture is thick and smooth. Let it cool. (U can add red food color too for pink appearance).

Once the custard cools down, add in it crushed almonds and pistachios, cream pack and rose syrup and mix well. Next add the boiled vermicelli & drained fruit cocktail. Mix again. (U can use tin or fresh fruits.. but beware that fresh fruits like mango might make the custard consistency thin as with time it extracts its juice).
Pour into the serving dish, refrigerate, garnish with crushed nuts and red colored jelly (which I didnt had..) Serve chilled :) Enjoy ur Eid !!
Note- You can omit Rose syrup or Rooh afza.
You can replace the same amount of custard powder with cornflour & add pink food color.
U can use any colored jelly or even 2 colors.
A tip for making jelly - Boil the jelly powder in 1 cup of water instead of 2 cups, as mentioned on packet. 1 cup will result in an awsome jelly.
U can use plain vermicelli instead of colored. Although I lovee colored :)
