Shashlik (shashlyk) is actually a mongolian dish. Shashlik was originally marinated cubes of grilled lamb or beef, but people of different areas changed it depending on local, taste and religious preferences. It is also a form of Shish Kabab popular in India and other Asian countries.
It has high protein contents like meat and vegetables which make it even more healthier. And if grilled, it has very little fatthat is in the form of oil.
Today I am going to alter bit of the original recipe, and use fish instead of beef. This recipe is just soo yumm n perfect that u will never regret making it. Extremely delicious and mouth drooling.
In this recipe, simply the boneless fish and veggies have been marinated and then shallow fried :) Perfect as a snack for winters
Note: Never marinate in an aluminium pot, because meat absorbs the aluminium oxide from the pot that can b toxic.
For Shashlik Sticks:
Other varieties of fish I have discussed are:
Baked Fish
Speedy Fired Fish
Qasoori Fried Fish
Thanku for stopping by! Hope u enjoy this recipe :)

Ingredients:
For Shashlik Sticks:
Fish (boneless) 250 gm (1/4 kg) or finger fish in cubes
Oil 1 wooden spoon (doi)
Onions 1 big (cubed)
Tomato 1 (cubed)
Capsicum 2 (cubed)
Red Chili powder 1/2 tsp.
Black Pepper ½ tsp.
Garlic Paste 1/2 tsp.
Salt 1/4 tsp.
Lemon Juice 1 tbsp.
Vinegar 1 tbsp.
Coriander seeds 1/4 tsp.
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp.
Oregano seeds (Ajwain) Pinch
Shashlik sticks (4-5)
Vinegar 1 tbsp.
Coriander seeds 1/4 tsp.
Cumin seeds 1/4 tsp.
Oregano seeds (Ajwain) Pinch
Shashlik sticks (4-5)
For Shashlik sticks mix all the above ingredients together except oil in a bowl and marinate the fish cubes for 3-4 hrs or preferably overnight. Then take shashlik sticks and pierce in it marinated fish cubes, cubes of capsicum, onion and tomato turn by turn. Keep gaps between the veggies and fish cubes. Heat oil and fry the sticks on medium flame.
Once done from 1 side, turn it to the other side. Once cooked, turn the heat high to give them a golden color touch.. So, the shashlik sticks are ready! yesss they r thattt easy!
Serve with boiled rice. Believe me its extremely delicious :)
